The Steelers enter this season with their starters set in the middle of their defense, but next season could create change in that room. Players are needed not only for competition but also for depth in the middle of the field and playing alongside their young star, Devin Bush.

This year when it comes to the middle linebacker position in this draft, it is loaded with talent. It has higher-end prospects then this previous draft had to offer to NFL teams. You will not have to wait long to hear a linebacker’s name called during the first night of the draft. With top end and elite athletes at the position this year, it will be enticing for the Steelers to select one if they are there for the choosing.

Some of these players have been on NFL scouts radars since they entered onto college fields and some even high school, this crop of prospects is something to definitely keep your eye on in the fall. Would the Steelers select a player at this position? Maybe, if the player is right and they can’t afford to pass on them.

Micah Parsons, Penn State

Parsons is one of the best linebacker prospects that has come out of college in a long time with his elite ability to cover, rush the passer, and stop the run. NFL teams will be so intrigued with his do it all mentality that he will not fall out of the top 10, probably not the top 5 picks in this year’s upcoming draft.

He is a freakish athlete with freakish abilities on the football field that will make coaches salivate while coming up with schemes. Since starting at Penn State as a true freshman Parsons has totaled 164 total tackles, five sacks, and forced four fumbles in his two seasons.

Dylan Moses, Alabama

This guy would’ve been the top middle linebacker prospect in the 2020 NFL draft before a season-ending injury occurred. The only question mark on Moses this season is if he can bounce back from his injury and be the same player if not better.

Many scouts do not see this as an issue and have him slated as their top prospect. Right now it seems like a Devin Bush and Devin White situation of a few years ago as to which one was the top prospect. Over his two seasons at Alabama, Moses totaled 106 tackles, five sacks, one interception, and one forced fumble.

Nick Bolton, Missouri

Bolton has a lot to prove this season if he wants to move up teams draft boards after this upcoming season. He is a lighter twitchy linebacker that is very reliable. Last season he totaled 100 tackles, one sack, and two interceptions. Bolton has a small stature, but he can use his speed and athletic ability to make up for it.

dark. Next. 3 Pittsburgh Steelers who could win awards in 2020

Those were some top linebacker prospects that can be the YIn to Devin Bush’s Yang in the middle of this dominant defense after this season concludes.
