2022 NFL Offseason- Kedon Slovis, USC
Kedon Slovis is projected to enter the 2022 NFL Draft and be one of the most sought after players. Slovis was the starting QB at USC last season as a freshman. Slovis led the Trojans to an 8-5 record and threw for 3,502 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions. Kedon also had a 71% completion rate which is the NCAA record for a freshman. He was also ranked college football’s most accurate downfield passer per PFF which is pretty remarkable as a freshman.
Slovis could stay another year after his draft eligibility in 2022 but if he performs the way he did last season, Slovis could easily find himself being a household name prior to the draft. Slovis does have some negatives to his play such as his decision making and trying to do too much but as the season went on, Slovis became smoother and confident.
I think Slovis would be an excellent in Pittsburgh right before Rothelisberger’s 19th season. Not only does it give Slovis a year to learn under Ben and get used to the NFL lifestyle, but it also allows Slovis to put on weight and get stronger because at 6’2, 200, Slovis is nothing compared to Big Ben.
A fun fact about Slovis is that his high school football coach was the Hall of Famer and legendary quarterback, Kurt Warner, and when Warner says you have the potential to be great and that you are special, all should listen.
