OT Zach Banner

Mike Tomlin’s comments in June made it clear that Matt Feiler will be kicking inside to left guard to start training camp. This opens the door for a starting position for either Zach Banner or Chukwuma Okorafor at right tackle.

While Okorafor could put up a fight at training camp and come down with a starting role, I’ve predicted multiple times this offseason that Banner would be the starter for the Steelers at right tackle in 2020. He has a terrific combination of strength and length that is coveted at the position, and he has completely reworked his body since entering the league as a 353-pound player from USC in 2017.

Though banner has just 1 start in the 22 NFL games he’s suited up for, it doesn’t mean that he won’t be ready to compete. Every time he stepped in for the Steelers last year, he seemed to do a very good job in his role. Banner is a fiery competitor with an excellent motor. I think he becomes a full-time starter for the first time in his NFL career this year.
