Fastest Pittsburgh Steelers of all time: 9. Emmanuel Sanders
Just ahead of Antonio Brown on the list of the fastest Steelers of the 2000s was former draftmate and fellow wide receiver, Emmanuel Sanders. Though nobody is arguing that Sanders was near the same level of player that Brown was in Pittsburgh, the speedy wide receiver had a great set of wheels.
Sanders ran a 4.40 at the NFL Combine back in 2010 and his homerun speed wasn’t hard to point out on film. Though he never caught more than 59.5 percent of passes thrown his direction from Ben Roethlisberger in his four seasons in Pittsburgh, Sanders would often get open down the field.
Despite playing a large portion of his career from the slot, the two-time Pro Bowl receiver has been able to average over 13 yards per reception. Like Brown, Sanders never had that elite gear to be considered one of the fastest receivers in the league, but his speed on the field was not hard to spot.
