Fastest Pittsburgh Steelers of all time: 7. Troy Polamalu

As an overall player, I think we can all agree that Troy Polamalu was one of the very best in the history of the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, even when it comes to straight-up speed alone, Polamalu’s name should still be near the top of the list.

According to Relative Athletic Score, Polamalu was recorded running a 4.35-second 40-yard dash prior to the NFL Draft back in 2003. This completely backs up what we witnessed on the Steelers for a dozen years. Polamalu was all over the place elite speed and quickness, and his ability to close in on ball carries was like nothing I had ever seen before.

Though there may be a few Steelers faster than Troy in a straight foot race, he may have the best combination of speed, agility, and change of direction of all of them. Polamalu slides in as 7th on my list of the fastest Steelers of the 2000s.
