10 fastest Pittsburgh Steelers players of the 2000s

Fastest Pittsburgh Steelers of all time: 6. Darrius Hayward-Bey
Unlike Polamalu, Darrius Heyward-Bey wasn’t a fluid mover in space. However, there’s no denying his straight-line speed down the field. Most draft experts believed that Heyward-Bey was over-drafted back in 2009 based on his elite athletic traits and eye-popping 4.30 40-yard dash.
While he probably was a tick faster during his years with the Oakland Raiders, he still had plenty of speed to burn while on the Steelers. As a wide receiver, hands and consistency were always issues that haunted the speedy receiver. Fortunately, Heyward-Bey still found a way to average nearly 16 yards per catch during his time in Pittsburgh.
Heyward-Bey will never go down as one of the best Steelers receivers of all-time and his list of accomplishments in the NFL runs pretty thin (outside of sticking around in the league for a decade). However, it’s hard to argue that he doesn’t deserve to be on the list of fastest Steelers.
