Number of Steelers on this year’s NFL Top 100 revealed

How many Pittsburgh Steelers players will appear on this year’s list?

Right around when the Pittsburgh Steelers report to training camp each year, NFL Network normally releases their annual NFL Top 100 list. It’s a bit of a signal that the offseason is over and it’s time to look ahead to preparing for the future.

In 2019, the Steelers had a total of five players appear on the NFL Top 100 list including Ben Roethlisberger, JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Conner, Cameron Heyward, and T.J. Watt.

Antonio Brown was also part of last year’s list, but he was included as a member of the Oakland Raiders since that was the team he was supposed to play for in 2019. But we all know how that turned out.

Fewer Pittsburgh Steelers will appear on this year’s NFL Top 100 list

After a disappointing 2019 campaign, it’s no surprise that there will be fewer Pittsburgh players on the latest version of the NFL Top 100.

The league’s Reddit account recently revealed how many guys each from each team were selected for this year’s list. For the Steelers, there will apparently be just three players from their current roster on the NFL Top 100 list for 2020.

Looking at the other teams in the AFC North, the Baltimore Ravens have seven players on this year’s list, the Cleveland Browns have four, and the Cincinnati Bengals have none.

As for which current members of Pittsburgh’s roster might be on the latest NFL Top 100 list, one should assume that it won’t include Roethlisberger, Smith-Schuster, or Conner based on their performance trending in the wrong direction last season.

Watt seems like a lock for the list and Heyward will likely earn Top 100 spot for the third year in a row. Minkah Fitzpatrick would seem like the obvious choice as the other Steelers player to earn a spot on the list, but who knows how the actual voting turned out.

The first episode of the annual show will air on Sunday, July 26 at 8 p.m. ET on NFL Network. Will any of the Pittsburgh players who made this year’s list be one of the first to be showcased?
