The Pittsburgh Steelers have had many legendary players walk through their doors. Here are four who finished their careers with other teams.

It does something to a person when you look at a player you loved growing up to leave, be traded away, or released and join another team. It makes you feel awkward and unusual because that player belonged in the black and gold their entire career, but yet they now play for a different team. Here are some players that went onto another team before hanging up their cleats.

Some players move onto another team after signing a big contract or after a trade and find dirtier pastures. For most of these players, that was the case. Some moved on and continued to play for a few more seasons while others went onto play a season or two more before their retirement was pushed on them. Sometimes staying on the same team is the best thing for the player and the team.

Some honorable mentions include players like Levon Kirkland (Seattle & Philadelphia), Kordell Stewart (Chicago & Baltimore), Antonio Brown (Raiders, Patriots, TBD), Alan Faneca (Jets & Arizona), Santonio Holmes (Jets), Ernie Holmes (Patriots), and Greg Lloyd (Carolina).

Many of these players were instrumental for the Steelers in capturing a Lombardy trophy or were high-level players that contributed to the team with an impressive stat sheet. Each player just seems out of place in a different jersey and it seems almost like a sin without them wearing the black and gold after their Steelers playing days.
