4. FS Ryan Clark

Ryan Clark wasn’t necessarily physically imposing on every play, but when he would come down to lay the wood, you’d better watch out.

Some NFL rules were emphasized because of this man. Take the hit on former Ravens running back, Willis McGahee, for example. Though he would certainly have to change his playstyle in today’s NFL, Clark would launch his body forward on impact to deliver crushing blows to offensive players – oftentimes rattling his own cage in the process.

At times, Clark could be so physical that his play boarded on straight-up dirty. The crack of the blows that he would deliver could be heard whether you were in the 50th row of the stadium or watching the game from the comfort of your home.

Clark made just one Pro Bowl in his 13-year career, and he isn’t going to go down as one of the Steeler’s best defensive backs of all-time. However, he will be remembered for two things: Being the ‘Robin’ to Polamalu’s ‘Batman’ and his crushing blows to offensive players. He was clearly one of the most physical Steelers of the 2000s.
