JuJu Smith-Schuster

Projected points: 224.07

Overall rank: 49th

Wide receiver rank: 12th

Of all Steelers fantasy football players this year, JuJu Smith-Schuster is the guy to own. Unfortunately, you probably won’t be able to steal him in the draft.

Though he’s ranked 12th this year among wide receivers, according to ESPN projections, he’s a well-known commodity. After racking up 1,426 yards in his second sesaon in 2018, fantasy owners are all likely predicting a bounce-back season from the Steelers top receiver with the return of Ben Roethlisberger.

While JuJu could prove to be an asset for your fantasy squad, it’s important not to sell out too soon for him. Yes, he should make major improvements from his 2019 season, but the fact that he struggled so much at the time last year should make you question your expectations for him in 2020.

With Big Ben back in action, a 1,000-yard season is expected from Smith-Schuster (assuming he plays all 16 games). However, with the emergence of Diontae Johnson and James Washington last season and the acquisitions of Eric Ebron and Chase Claypool, it’s highly unlikely JuJu sees nearly as many targets as he did in 2018. Expect high-end WR2 production this year.
