4. RB James Conner

James Conner isn’t a bad running back by any stretch of the imagination, but he’s also a player without a trump card. Though he can play all three downs and catch as well as run, Conner lacks a special trait to his game and has only ever been an average NFL running back in terms of efficiency, despite his Pro Bowl honors in 2018.

This year, Conner is entering the season healthy, but injuries have always been a big concern and he missed 6 games last season. With four running backs drafted since 2017, we can expect the Steelers to start to look for much more of a committee approach instead of relying on Conner for every-down work.

In a contract year, it’s hard to say where Conner will end up in 2021, but if you are considering drafting him in fantasy football, you may want to consider that he won’t have the same workload he did in 2018. Conner has received a lot of buzz as a bounce-back player this year, but he’s missed 11 games in his first three seasons. Let’s see how his health holds up first.
