2015 Notable Stats: 240 touches, 1274 yards, 11 TDs

Coming in at second in this list who was close to sneaking in as the top veteran performer is DeAngelo Williams. The longtime Panther joined the Steelers for his age 32 season in 2015. After already amassing over 1600 touches with the Panthers, Williams wasn’t expected to be more than a reserve. Yet he started 10 games that year and amassed nearly 1300 total yards and 11 TDs.

While 1300 yards isn’t elite production for an RB, one that was well into his thirties is quite astounding. Most RBs begin to decline around 28 and seeming drop completely off after 30. Yet Williams put up a really good year when all signs pointed to the fact that he shouldn’t. He proved to be a valuable addition to the offense and became a vital cog down the stretch.

Far from his best season (that was easily 2008), Williams rekindled a spark that he was seeming losing during his final games with the Steelers. While 2015 was his last charge (his 2016 season was mostly mediocre), Williams’s veteran season was one for the ages. Again, it can’t be stated enough how rare it is for an RB to produce like that at his age. Williams’s 2015 season was vital in the Steeler’s success that year.
