Ben Roethlisberger will play a full season in 2020

This may not seem like a very bold statement, but consider the fact that Ben Roethlisberger has only played 4 full seasons in his 16-year NFL career. Now going on year 17, there are many wondering how Ben’s elbow will hold up.

Based on what we’ve seen so far, things are looking pretty good. However, it’s not just his elbow we should be talking about. After playing just a game-and-a-half in 2019, Roethlisberger has had nearly a full year for his aging body to recovery from any other ailments he had been dealing with. We all know what an extensive injury history Ben has had, from his knee to finger, to elbow, and everything in between.

In 2011, we saw Peyton Manning miss the entire sesaon with a neck injury only to throw for 37 touchdowns and 4,600 passing yards on a new team the following year – looking as healthy as ever.

While Ben isn’t Manning, having such a long offseason of recovery should do his body good at this point in his career. If his protection is solid this year, we could see Roethlisberger play just his second full season dating all the way back to 2014.

It’s possible that I could be wrong on all five of these Steelers predictions in 2020, and some are more admittedly bold than others. Still, don’t be surprised if some of these predictions end up coming to fruition this season.
