Maurkice Pouncey

Pouncey has been a staple on the offensive line at center. Although he did struggle with injuries in the earlier part of his career, he has had a long career playing center in front of Ben Roethlisberger.

I really don’t want to be a downer, but Pouncey was below par in my opinion in 2019. I think it has something to do with his age. It might have been that he was playing injured but I think we are starting to see the decline of Pouncey.

Pouncey has played a lot of snaps and has had his fair share of injuries. It is natural to expect him to decline at this point in this career. I think the role he plays mainly for the Steelers is as a leader and a confident veteran presence in the locker room.

That is all well in good in 2020 but the Steelers might be the team to pull the plug in 2021. He will have a base salary of eight million dollars and thus he will have a high cap number that year. It might be financially savvy to say goodbye to the longtime Steeler.
