An NFL analyst believes the Pittsburgh Steelers will make this season’s Super Bowl.
For the Pittsburgh Steelers and every other team around the NFL (well, not the Cleveland Browns), the goal heading into each season is to win the Super Bowl.
During their history, the Steelers have been lucky enough to win six Super Bowls. And despite missing out on the playoffs during each of the last two years, Pittsburgh will still be looking to bring home another Vince Lombardi trophy this season.
Currently, the Steelers are tied with the Indianapolis Colts with the 10th-best odds to win the Super Bowl this year.
Pittsburgh Steelers predicted to play in Super Bowl LV
The 2020 NFL season is less than three weeks from beginning and the predictions are starting to pour in from everywhere, including a very interesting one about Pittsburgh’s championship chances this year.
CBS Sports’ Bryan DeArdo recently made three bold predictions for the Steelers’ upcoming season and according to his crystal ball, he believes the black and gold will be representing the AFC in Super Bowl LV.
For his reasons why, DeArdo refers to Pittsburgh having one of the easiest schedules in the NFL this year, a tougher AFC North could prepare the Steelers for the playoffs, the New England Patriots are not the super-power they used to be, and Pittsburgh has proven in the recent past (2018) that they can hang with the Kansas City Chiefs.
With the return of Ben Roethlisberger (who DeArdo believes will be an All-Pro in 2020), the Steelers are becoming a trendy team to pick to make the Super Bowl. Rightfully so though since Pittsburgh’s defense should be among the NFL’s best this season and Roethlisberger should help the team’s offense get back on track.
In addition to predicting that Roethlisberger will be an All-Pro in 2020 and the Steelers will play in Super Bowl LV, DeArdo also believes T.J. Watt will end the upcoming season as the league’s Defensive Player of the Year.
Of his three predictions, Watt winning the Defensive Player of the Year award likely has the best chance of actually happening. But this doesn’t mean anyone should be counting out the other two predictions from coming true.
In the strange season that is about to get underway, just about anything can, and will, happen for Pittsburgh and the rest of the NFL.
