Rocky Bleier

Bleier may not have had the biggest stat line in NFL history but what he has is an amazing story of overcoming adversity. Bleier served in the Vietnam war and was injured before returning to the Steelers. He would become an extremely integral part of the 1970’s Steelers dynasty teams as he was the Yin to Franco Harris’s Yang. Bleier would overcome the injuries he sustained in Vietnam and make a great career for himself in the black and yellow.

Bleier is a fan favorite of Steelers Nation and that still holds today. He and Harris made for a tough duo that defenses struggled with week-in and week-out. Bleier was able to add up a nice career with Pittsburgh and cement himself on this list. The former 16th round pick of the 1968 NFL Draft out of Notre Dame would run his way to the ninth-most rushing yards in franchise history to this day.

Bleier would add stats like 3.865 rushing yards, 23 rushing touchdowns, 1,294 receiving yards, two receiving touchdowns, and four Super Bowl championships. Bleier would play his entire career in the Steel City and would create a bigger than life story for this amazing player and person for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
