The offensive line needs to mesh quickly

I’ve predicted from the start that Zach Banner would ultimately end up being the starting right tackle for the Steelers this year. But whoever it ends up being, we know that Pittsburgh’s offensive line is going to look very different in 2020.

Mike Tomlin has confirmed that Matt Feiler will kick inside to start at left guard this year for the retired Ramon Foster, while the winner of Banner or Chukwuma Okorafor will earn the right tackle spot.

With three starters on the offensive line now into their 30s, a former starter playing a different position, and a new starter at right tackle, the Steelers will need to mesh together quickly if they are to have offensive success in 2020.

Pittsburgh’s offensive line has been one of the consistent staples of the team for quite some time as the combination of Alejandro Villanueva, Ramon Foster, Maurkice Pouncey, and David DeCastro have played together for years. The Steelers can ill-afford to let their offensive line fall apart in a closing year of a Super Bowl window.
