The Steelers have an extremely deep group of wide receivers in 2020. Here’s what to expect from them in your fantasy football league this year.

In 2018 the Steelers had the best wide receiver in fantasy football, Antonio Brown, and the 23rd best receiver, JuJu Smith-Schuster, per ESPN. After such a stellar year, with having one of the best one-two punches in the league, fantasy football owners must have been disappointed to see that the Steelers’ best fantasy option at wide receiver would be James Washington at 47th per FantasyFootballers. Thanks to injury and missing their hall of fame quarterback, the fantasy value of Pittsburgh’s top pass catchers tumbled. With Ben Roethlisberger back, who is gonna have the best fantasy outlook in what is likely to be a very pass-heavy offense?

Some honorable mentions in the passing game this year would be Eric Ebron and Anthony Macfarland Jr. For starters, neither of them are wide receivers so they failed to crack the list. Eric Ebron is definitely a guy people should consider drafting coming into this year. His lone season with Andrew Luck saw him explode out of nowhere. We know he has another talented passer who loves tight-ends in Ben Roethlisberger. Considering Vance Macdonald’s injury history, Eric Ebron has as good of a chance as any player on this roster of dominating the middle of the field offensively this year.

Anthony Macfarland Jr. has plenty of talent. He slipped on many draft boards due to his injury history in college and what many scouts deemed as a poor personality. With a player of his speed and elusiveness, the Steelers are sure to find him plenty of screens and short passes to get him in space this year.

Some other names we won’t see on this list are Ryan Switzer and Deon Cain. It is well documented that Switzer and Ben have great chemistry. But with him having shown little ability to do much after the catch, and without a healthy enough target share for him, even in PPR leagues, he is not going to be fantasy relevant this year.

Deon Cain made some plays for the Steelers last season, but with so many wide receivers ahead of him on the depth chart, it is unlikely we will see him dress for the Steelers often this year. That is all assuming that he even makes the team, and at this point, that seems unlikely.
