The Steelers should have at least four more players in the Pro Football Hall of Fame

As I stated at the outset of our discussion, we can’t do the ‘woulda, shoulda, coulda, when it comes to a retrospection of who the Steelers drafted and who the Steelers could have drafted. but in the case of the four players about whom we spoke, I think it’s pretty clear that we ‘missed the boat’ on these players.

Look, it’s not a situation where every player we draft has to end up in the Hall of Fame, but you have to wonder how the fortunes of the organization would have changed has we drafted the players we discussed.  Do you think we would have won at least one Super Bowl in the ’80s with Marino at QB?  Do you think we would have won the one and only Super Bowl in which we played in the ’90s had we had Sanders as our starting RB?

Albeit the aforementioned questions are rhetorical, they have some veracity on the plane of reality.  The bottom line is this:  We will never know what could have been had we drafted certain players in favor of other players.  Right now, the Steelers may be regretting drafting certain players when we could have drafted other players who are currently enjoying better careers, but, alas, we can’t do the ‘woulda, shoulda. coulda’ or can we?
