Defensive line: 6

Cameron Heyward, Stephon Tuitt, Tyson Alualu, Chris Wormley, Isaiah Buggs, Daniel McCullers

I would have liked to see a young player emerge for that final spot on the team. I know Henry Mondeaux was impressive last preseason. However, without any of these young defensive tackles making significant impacts in training camp, it’s hard to imagine that they would uproot Daniel McCullers for the final defensive tackle job.

In addition to the obvious four players making the team (Heyward, Tuitt, Alualu, and Wormley), I also have the Steelers keeping Isaiah Buggs on the squad. He was impressive in limited action as a rookie in 2019.

Edge defenders: 4

T.J. Watt, Bud Dupree, Ola Adeniyi, Alex Highsmith

This is the same group I have predicted all along. The Steelers don’t typically venture far from their roster trends, and they have been keeping four outside linebackers in recent years. T.J. Watt and Bud Dupree will see the majority of snaps this year (obviously), while Alex Highsmith is a roster lock as he’s their 2020 third-round pick. I also have Pittsburgh sticking with Ola Adeniyi – a player who has been solid on special teams and flashed in each of his first two preseasons.
