Linebackers: 4

Devin Bush, Vince Williams, Ulysees Gilbert, Robert Spillane

Because the Steelers parted ways with both Mark Barron and Tyler Matakevich this offseason and failed to bring in a single notable linebacker, these four are your guys on the roster by default.

Devin Bush and Vince Williams will assume their starting roles in 2020, while both Ulysees Gilbert and Robert Spillane have a chance to see some defensive snaps this year because of the sheer lack of depth. Depending on where the Steelers elect to list Marcus Allen, he could also be considered in this group.

Cornerbacks: 6

Joe Haden, Steven Nelson, Mike Hilton, Cameron Sutton, Justin Layne, James Pierre

The top five cornerbacks can be cemented here. The Steelers don’t always run with six, but I have them keeping an extra this year in James Pierre. Pierre has had a very solid camp with the team and Pittsburgh can never have enough fast players who know how to tackle on special teams.
