Davis joined the team as their final selection in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Nebraska. While he was a Corn Huskers, he didn’t put up amazing numbers but he was able to show good enough tape to entice the Steelers to select him. He had his most productive year during his final season with Nebraska. That season saw him total 32 tackles, four and a half tackles for loss, four sacks, and one forced fumble.

Now, these stats might not ‘wow’ you, but he was brought in to be a nose tackle and their stats aren’t going to turn a lot of heads. Their job is to clog up the middle to shut down the rest of the trenches and create havoc, not pile on the stats. Davis was a surprise just because the Steelers cut Dan McCullers and put him on the practice squad.

Many expected the other way around to occur. Davis made the team over McCullers just shows how much the coaches believe in Davis at this moment. McCullers has always been on the roster bubble since he was a rookie years ago and yet he would always be on the 53 but Davis changed that by taking his spot.
