Daniel Jones
Verdict: Sit ‘Em
I am really high on Daniel Jones this year, as he flashed a lot of positive traits during his rookie year for the Giants. He can push the ball deep and had a lot of success in making big plays when they were needed. The issue with him to start this year is that his offensive line has taken quite a hit, and both of his starting tackles will be rookies.
While Jones has the talent to have a big year fantasy-wise in 2020, facing the sack happy Steelers defense against a raw line is a recipe for a bad start to his season. The Steelers pass rushers should be able to feast on Jones, and it should lead to quite a few sacks and turnovers for the young franchise QB. While he should hit on a couple of big plays, it won’t be shocking if he has more net turnovers than scores.
Fantasy owners should keep their eye on Jones but should keep him on their bench for the first week. Once his line gets a little more experience and he settles in, Jones could be a weekly fantasy starter for players. Week one isn’t it though, so look for some different options when it comes to a starting QB in week one.
