The Pittsburgh Steelers are going to be playing with a bit of an attitude in week 1.

The Steelers faced as much turmoil as any team in the NFL last season. Yet, they were within striking distance of securing a playoff berth multiple times at the end of the 2019 season. After the Steelers lost to the Buffalo Bills in week 15, they traveled to Metlife stadium. They had to win their final two games to avoid hoping for a bunch of complicated tiebreaker scenarios to make the postseason.

It has to be next to impossible to come into Metlife and not remember that this is where they lost control of their destiny in 2019. They lost to the Jets 16-10. They are going to walk in and start the season off pretty much where it ended. This has to energize this squad. They have such a storybook opportunity to get redemption in a season that they are hoping to take over the NFL.

For as much of a reason the Giants have to protect their house, the Steelers have just as much of a reason to win in Metlife. This is such a good way to put all of the troubles, injuries, and heartbreak of 2019 behind them. Even though Tomlin has been good at managing his team’s emotions and getting the best out of them, this is a picture-perfect opportunity to take control of their 2020 season.
