Minkah Fitzpatrick

64 tackles, 4 INT, 10 pass defenses, 2 FF, 1 FR

It’s unfair of us to project the same level of absurd production that Minkah Fitzpatrick saw last season. Like Watt, he too was in consideration for the Defensive Player of the Year award in the early going.

While Minkah may not have the same spectacular season from a statistical standpoint, it doesn’t mean that his presence won’t be felt. Fitzpatrick can change where quarterbacks go with the ball – we saw this in the second half of the season as the safety was hardly targetted.

Fitzpatrick will do things for this team that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet, but you better believe his presence will be felt. Though we need to see at least another year of this before we can consistently talk about him as one of the best defenders in the National Football League, Fitzpatrick was a great prospect coming out of Alabama in 2018, and I don’t think last year was a fluke.

The Steelers won’t have another 38-takeaway season this year, and Fitzpatrick may not be responsible for 8 of them in 2020, but he will still be among the best safeties in the league.

There are plenty of other Steelers who will contribute in major ways this season, but here are some of the most exciting. It will be interesting to see how close these predictions come as the 2020 season unfolds.
