Chukwuma Okorafor vs Jeremiah Attaochu
The Steelers held a camp long battle for the right tackle spot between Okorafor and Zach Banner. The battle lasted until right before the week one game against New York when Mike Tomlin announced Banner as the starter.
Banner, a former 4th-round draft pick of the Colts, earned the starting job after the fierce battle in which both players made it very difficult to name a winner. He had worked very hard and transformed his body to earn the spot protecting one of Pittsburgh’s most important assets, Ben Roethlisberger.
Banner’s season is now over, due to a severe knee injury. Okorafor now has the opportunity he fought very hard for in training camp.
Chukwuma is a former third-round pick of the Steelers back in the 2018 draft. He has one career start in which he played the full game at right tackle and it was against none other than the Denver Broncos. He held his own against Von Miller in that game but Miller is now out for the season this year and he will face off against Jeremiah Attaochu for this week 2 matchup.
