The offensive line made this list last week, and they find themselves squarely in the conversation once again. While the unit did a decent job of protecting Ben Roethlisberger and opening the run game, injuries have completely derailed the depth and talent the unit has. DeCastro is still a question mark while Zach Banner is lost for the year. On top of this, top interior backup Stephen Wisniewski left the Giants injured as well and now finds himself on IR.
Rookie Kevin Dotson appears primed to get his first start this week. While he was a mauling run blocker in college, he appears raw in pass protection. Ideally, he would have had his rookie season to develop there before taking over next season, but that no longer is the case. He will have a trial by fire as well considering how strong the Broncos defensive line is. The Steelers should be concerned right now, as the mounting injuries have left this group as a big question mark.
Worse yet, the Steelers are one injury away from playing their last reserves. If either of the OTs goes down, Jerald Hawkins appears ready to play. For the inside, that role will likely go to J.C. Hassenauer. Last week, the Steelers depth would be questionable if an injury occurred. This week, the depth will deteriorate if an injury occurs.
