Joshua Kelley

Joshua Kelley almost made this list last week, but I wanted to see a little more out of him before I gave him my blessing as a waiver target. While his 2.8 yards per carry isn’t ideal, the fact he received 16 carries for the Chargers makes him an intriguing player in fantasy. The rookie runs with a lot of power and serves as a fantastic compliment to Austin Ekeler. While he won’t be the top RB option weekly, he is still a starter in the right weekly matchup.

To be clear, Ekeler is the better fantasy option. His ability to run and catch passes makes him a weekly must start. Where Kelley comes in is as a power option, an option to run behind through people and not around them. As well, he should be the option on the goal line, meaning he can score additional points by getting into the end zone.

Even better, Kelley made the most of his two receptions, logging 49 yards off of them. He should continue growing into his role and improving each week. Considering the run centric offense that the Chargers are running, he should see 10-15 carries a game. If he can be a consistent scorer, he could launch himself into low-end RB2 territory. He was arguably worth an add last week and is an easy add for week two.
