Dalton Schultz

The Cowboys lost their starting TE last week and turned to Dalton Schultz against the Falcons. While he isn’t a dynamic receiving threat, he has decent hands and the ability to get open in the middle of the field. He took advantage of that during week two, catching nine passes for 88 yards and a score. While his upside as a player isn’t a top TE in the league, given his opportunity in this offense he could see a few weeks with high scores.

The Cowboys passing option is filled with weapons, and while Schultz won’t be a top target, he should still see plenty of targets. Dak Prescott has been on a roll to start the season, and he should continue that trend as the season progresses. If Schultz can continue to defy expectations, he could end the season as a top 15 TE in fantasy football.

While not the game-breaking threat like a Mark Andrews, Schultz should be a valuable backup TE that can start in certain games. At the very least, you could stream him during ideal matchups. If your fantasy football team is lacking a backup TE or is without a true starting TE, then consider adding Schultz to your roster this week.
