For two weeks in a row, the hottest pickup of the week turns out to be an RB. This week, Dion Lewis sees his name return to fantasy relevance, as the possible season-ending injury to Barkley could pave the way to him starting. While Lewis isn’t an elite runner, he is a fantastic pass catcher out of the backfield. Even more promising, he seemed to carry the load after Barkley’s injury, meaning he could be in store for a big workload in the coming weeks.

Now, Lewis won’t suddenly vault himself into an elite category. He simply isn’t gifted enough as a runner to do that. Even if he does split carries though, he should see the field on passing downs. In a PPR league, Lewis could thrive by catching 4-5 passes a game. Throw in the rushing stats he should put up, and suddenly you are looking at an intriguing fantasy starter.

Again, Lewis won’t replicate the success of Barkley as a runner, but his versatility should make him a decent weekly starter. Even if the Giants add an RB to the roster, Lewis should still see snaps. He is an easy fantasy add and a possible weekly starter from here on out assuming Barkley can’t suit up.

While week two was a killer to multiple players seasons, it has given fantasy football a new outlook for struggling teams. Former backups have been vaulted into starting roles and are now well worth the fantasy football roster spot. Look to add any of these five options this week to further fill out your fantasy football roster.
