Ben Roethlisberger is putting his team in a position to win

In years past, you wouldn’t catch me bragging about a quarterback who completed 63 percent of his passes for 237 yards and 2 touchdowns (which is exactly what Ben Roethlisberger did, according to ESPN statistics). However, this is exactly the type of play we need from Roethlisberger to give the Steelers a chance to win every game.

Early in the contest, Ben was off the mark – missing his receivers on crossing routes and failing to connect down the field. Fortunately, he found a rhythm just before the end of the first half.

While these numbers are very pedestrian, the fact that Big Ben hasn’t been turning the ball over this year is exactly what I was hoping to see early on from a quarterback who missed all but two games in 2019. Through the first three weeks of the season, Ben has 7 touchdowns to just 1 interception. I can live with modest completion percentage and yards per attempt if he can keep up this fantastic touchdown-to-interception ratio. Pittsburgh’s defense will handle the rest.
