Dwight White

White was a fourth-round selection in the 1971 NFL Draft to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He would become one of the members of the legendary Steel Curtain defensive front. He and his fellow members would dominate the competition and secure one of the most successful dynasties in NFL history. The impressive teammates alongside him do not take away from what White and other players mean and meant to this team. White was able to be one of the best at his position for the Steelers and dominate the competition.

White was nicknamed “Mad Dog” because of the intensity that he played with every game. His most impressive feat coming after being in the hospital before Super Bowl IX because of Pneumonia. He lost 20 pounds and ended up playing in the game and played well, even sacking the quarterback for a safety.

Other than those impressive stories, White was able to make a great career for himself in Pittsburgh. He totaled four Super Bowl Championships, two Pro Bowls, four interceptions, two safeties, 46 sacks, and 104 games started over a 9 season career.
