Mo Alie-Cox

Mo Alie-Cox is coming off back to back big games, and he is quickly becoming a favorite target of Phillip Rivers in this offense. While most fantasy football players expected Jack Doyle to take over as the primary starting TE, injuries have hampered him and opened the door up for Cox. He had over 100 yards previously and he followed that up by gaining another 50 yards and a score. He may have jumped Doyle on the depth chart and big things could be in store for him if that is the case.

Rivers has always been a fan of getting the ball to his TE. He and Antonio Gates were an unstoppable force for all of those years and he even made Hunter Henry a top fantasy option when healthy. Now it looks like Cox could be his go-to weapon in this offense. Considering the rest of the receiving core has struggled to make an impact, Cox could quickly become the primary passing target.

Doyle is getting healthier which could limit Cox’s upside in fantasy football, but he and Rivers have been hot through the first three weeks. Expect him to continue to get opportunities weekly as Rivers gets more comfortable in this offense. He could be in store for a solid season if he can truly take over as the primary TE in this offense.
