Tee Higgins

Again, Week 3 was the week of the rookie receivers, and the Bengals Tee Higgins showed the NFL why he was worthy of being an early-round draft pick in 2020. The big target had athleticism questions which caused him to fall out of the first round. While he has struggled to see the field early on, he finally got the nod this week and he had an instant connection with Joe Burrow.

Higgins only recorded 40 yards receiving, but he found the end zone twice in that span. If he can become the Bengals primary red-zone threat, he can and should remain fantasy relevant. He has seemingly already earned the third receiver spot on the depth chart over John Ross, meaning his next task will be taking targets away from A.J. Green. If he can leapfrog the veteran, Higgins could be the primary target for Burrow.

What this would mean for fantasy football is that Higgins would be a low-end starter. While he is only a pickup and stash target right now, the more he sees the field the more he should develop as a starter. While he won’t take over for Tyler Boyd in the slot, he has the potential to be the first target on the outside by seasons end. Stash him for now but be ready if he can take over for Green.
