Nick Foles

While Nick Foles will forever be cemented as a Super Bowl hero, his actual starting career has been extremely hot and cold. He looked like a certified starter before faltering with the Rams. He then revived his career with the Eagles and the aforementioned Super Bowl win before signing as a starter with the Jaguars. He was traded after struggling with them and found himself in Chicago this year.

While Mitch Trubisky was named as the initial starter, his poor play led to him getting benched in favor of Foles. All Foles did in one half of play is toss a trio of scores and lead the Bears to a comeback victory. Now, a lot of this was due to the horrible play of the Falcons defense, but Foles looked sharp with the ball in his hands. Better yet, he looked calculated, not taking a lot of risks and opting for safer routes.

While I’m not ready for Foles to be a weekly fantasy starter, his early looks were promising. He makes sense to grab as a backup right now to see if his Eagles magic passes on to the Bears. If he can play to form with this offense that has quite a few weapons, Foles could end the year as a top-15 fantasy football QB. That would be well worth the waiver wire add this week.
