Brandon Aiyuk

The last of the rookie receivers, Brandon Aiyuk struggled with injuries early in the season, and thus barely contributed before this week. With the rest of the roster banged up, Aiyuk finally saw his first serious playing time, and he made the most of it. He was the lead receiver for the 49ers, catching five passes for 70 yards. The biggest reason to add him though is his rushing ability, something the 49ers love from their receivers.

Last year, Deebo Samuel took the fantasy world by storm when he became a threat from anywhere in the offense. While he could catch a handful of passes a game, his biggest asset was his ability to take sweeps and use his ability to escape defenders as a runner. Aiyuk showed similar traits, rushing for 31 yards and a score. The fact the 49ers are so keen to use him like they did Samuel bodes well for his fantasy stock.

Even when Samuel returns from injury, Aiyuk should still be fantasy relevant. The 49ers will have one of the most versatile offenses, as they can be just as deadly throwing the ball as well as running it. As for Aiyuk, he could have a similar role that Samuel carved out last year. He is trending up in this offense and is a must-add for Week 3.

While week three was less eventful than last for injuries, there are still a handful of quality options for the fantasy football owners to target during waivers this week. Keep these four players in mind when adding talent to your fantasy rosters this week.
