Anthony McFarland: stock – up

McFarland hadn’t seen much game action through the first two weeks of the season. With Benny Snell’s fumble issues this season, he got a little more burn today and showed why the Steelers drafted him.

He tallied 6 carries for 42 yards on the day and was explosive in his runs. He showed his speed and cutting ability to provide a change of pace from the bruising styles of James Conner and Snell.

McFarland is fourth in the pecking order for the Steelers but he very well could see more touches in this offense after his showing today. Granted, the Texans rush defense is one of the worst in the league through three weeks, but he has big-play ability written all over him.

His speed can be utilized to add another dimension to the Steelers offense that is full of youth. Big Ben needs all the weapons he can find and the speed McFarland possesses surely caught the eyes of the coaches and Ben himself.

He has a chance to be what Jaylen Samuels should be in the offense. He can be a unique weapon in the Steelers passing game for the rest of the season.
