The Steelers came away with their third straight win against the Houston Texans on Sunday. Here are three players who need to be more involved in the offense.

After a disastrous first half against the Houston Texans that saw the Steelers surrender 21 points, Pittsburgh made drastic improvements coming out of halftime. They owned the time of possession in the third and fourth quarters; thus keeping a lethal Deshaun Watson off the field in pivotal moments of the game.

Pittsburgh had a nearly perfect drive late in the fourth quarter against the Texans. Up just 7 points, Ben Roethlisberger and company had a long, time-consuming drive with several key first down conversions. While it was almost blown when rookie wide receiver, Chase Claypool, nearly fumbled the ball out of the back of the endzone, the Steelers were eventually able to kneel the ball and end the game – making sure that it didn’t end up back in the hands of Watson.

Though Pittsburgh’s offense has yet to eclipse 28 points in a single game this season, they have consistently churned out at least 26 points in all three contests to open the season. JuJu Smith-Schuster has been the Steelers most consistent offensive player through three games, but there are plenty who have pitched in key contributions early.

Unfortunately, not all skill players have had the same opportunity to impact the game. While JuJu and Diontae Johnson have eaten up a large majority of the team’s total targets in the passing game so far, other players should be given more chances to prove why they can help this team in 2020.
