Pittsburgh looked to be in good health following the bye week until the Steelers star edge rusher ended up on the injury report.

Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt sat out on Thursday with a reported knee injury and the hope is that it is very minor. Watt has been one of the best defenders in the NFL this season and not having him suit up on Sunday would be a huge loss if this injury proves to be serious.

His brother, Derek Watt, is also dealing with a hamstring injury and it would hurt the Steelers in short-yardage running situations if he was unable to go. In addition, Marcus Allen is hobbled with a foot injury but the Steelers could easily replace him on gameday with Ulysees Gilbert.

Here is a look at the full updated injury report for the Steelers after Thursday’s practice:

Steelers Injury Report

Diontae Johnson (toe) Questionable

Diontae Johnson sat out of practice Wednesday but practiced fully on Thursday, and looks to be good to go this weekend. He has been dealing with a few injuries but I’m glad he has recovered from his concussion. I expect Diontae Johnson to be the Steelers WR2 on Sunday.

JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) Questionable

JuJu Smith-Schuster sat out of practice on Wednesday with a knee injury. Smith-Schuster was able to practice fully on Thursday. I think they were just resting him early in the week.

Joe Haden (illness) Probable

Joe Haden was out of practice Wednesday with an illness. He was able to come back and practice fully on Thursday; so, I am confident that he will be able to play on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Marcus Allen (foot) Doubtful

This is the first injury that I am semi-worried about. Marcus Allen sat out on Wednesday and Thursday. We will see if he practices on Friday, but I think there is a better than 50% chance that he doesn’t practice. Marcus Allen can be replaced at inside linebacker by Ulysees Gilbert. There is no need to rush him back.
