After the entire postponement of the Titans game, the Steelers come back home to face off against the Philadelphia Eagles. This is yet another game that Pittsburgh should win as the Eagles are struggling early on this season.

The year 2020 has brought an added struggle for the Steelers schedule after the Titans had members test positive for COVID 19. Now that the black and yellow have passed their newly found bye week, they will have to gruel through a long schedule in their quest to reach the goal of becoming Super Bowl Champions.

The Eagles come into Heinz Field with a record of 1-2-1 as they currently sit in first place for their feeble division, the NFC East. Vegas and other “experts” have the Steelers favored over their cross-state rivals heading into this matchup. Pittsburgh has had more time to prepare for the Eagles and has the better roster when you compare the two teams.

One thing is for sure when you dissect the picks for this week, everyone has picked the Steelers. From experts across the spectrum of CBS Sports, Yahoo, Sporting News, and Bleacher Report the Steelers are picked in each one. The reasoning for picking Pittsburgh varies but the consensus comes down to the favored team having better players than their foe. The Eagles struggle a lot with their offensive line and weapons, while the Steelers have too much for Philadelphia to handle across the ball.

The Eagles head into this game coming off their first victory over a battered San Francisco 49ers team on Sunday Night Football. The game saw both teams struggle at many different points of the game. The birds won the day after a nice drive led by their X-factor, quarterback Carson Wentz. It was a tough game to watch as it showed both of those teams struggle to secure victory at many different points in the game.

The X-factor for the Steelers this game will be the war in the trenches. Pittsburgh has a solid offensive line but this Eagles front is a formidable force. If they can establish the run and take advantage of their less then stellar secondary, this will be a dominant performance by the good guys. The defensive front for Pittsburgh should be able to take advantage of this very poor line on the Eagles offense and cause chaos in the backfield yet again.

This should be another win for Pittsburgh as the Eagles just have so many issues and question marks across the board. The only way Pittsburgh can lose this game is if Wentz can expose the defense and the Philadelphia defensive front can destroy the trenches all day long. That just does not seem like a possibility when you look at this matchup.

Prediction: Steelers 30, Eagles 17

This shouldn’t be a tough game for the Steelers but they have shown the ability to struggle against the Eagles in the past. Pittsburgh is just the better team overall and they should be able to show that to the world again this Sunday after the early bye week.
