OT Greg Robinson

Here’s the reality: Greg Robinson has been a tremendous disappointment as a former number two overall pick by the Rams back in 2014. However, the tools to work with are remarkable, and Robinson won’t be asked to assume a starting role unless someone gets hurt or Chukwuma Okorafor really starts disappointing.

The Steelers lost starting tackle, Zach Banner, for the season at the end of their Week 1 game against the New York Giants. Though the drop off in talent from Banner to Okorafor has hardly been noticeable (if any at all), the depth at offensive tackle is now concerningly poor.

Greg Robinson has primarily been a left tackle throughout his six NFL seasons, but the Steelers zone scheme and the ability to get the ball out quickly could allow him to play either side. Robinson isn’t suddenly going to make Pittsburgh’s offensive line the best in the league, but Jerald Hawkins is just one injury away from entering the starting lineup. This isn’t something any of us should want.
