The Steelers were making a point to get him involved in Week 5.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been much higher on their rookie than I had expected for the start of the 2020 season. Chase Claypool has been making plays, but this is the first game he had been the feature guy for the offense. They had been spreading the ball around a lot until their 3rd drive. James Conner would run well and set the Steelers up on a 3rd and 6 at Philly’s 32-yard line.

Chase Claypool runs a deeper slant route and Ben finds him. Claypool is a freakishly fast guy for his size. When he catches this ball there isn’t a guy in white close enough to have a chance of keeping him out of the endzone. Chase Claypool was having himself a tremendous first half. He had come into this game with 2 touchdowns so far on his rookie season. He had already obtained two touchdowns in this game during the Steelers’ first 3 offensive drives. The big question was, would he be able to continue to dominate this game?

The answer would be a resounding yes. This has been an eye-opening game for me. Chase Claypool flashed for me a few times this season but he was just taking over the game from start to finish. After watching this game today, I have this feeling that Claypool isn’t just going to be good. He is gonna be a special player.
