Winner: Ben Roethlisberger

Ben Roethlisberger didn’t do anything flashy, but he had his best game since returning from injury. Facing a struggling secondary but a ferocious front seven, there were concerns that he would be rag dolled during this game. He was only sacked once though and relied on a lot of quick passes to minimize this defense’s ability to make plays in the backfield.

On the day, Roethlisberger only missed seven passes and threw for over 225 yards and three scores. He seemed poised in the pocket despite facing a lot of hurries, and he allowed for the “dink and dunk” style to slowly wear this defense down. He played mistake-free football and attacked the middle and short areas of the field, allowing his receivers to use their athleticism to make the big plays.

If Roethlisberger can play like this almost every week, this will be a team to fear. Even with the early defensive struggles, Roethlisberger has kept the offense moving and as a result, kept the Steelers in the lead. While he didn’t make any incredible plays, he stayed focused and kept the Steelers offense moving. If he can continue to play like that, the Steelers will be a hard team to beat this year.
