The Pittsburgh Steelers were able to keep their win streak alive against the Cleveland Browns. Here are my takeaways from the game.

Apart from a potentially serious knee injury to Devin Bush that occurred late in the second quarter, the Pittsburgh Steelers played almost a perfect first half of football. An early lead allowed Keith Bulter’s defense the ability to get after Baker Mayfield – knowing that the Browns quarterback would be forced to beat them with his arm.

That didn’t turn out so well for Cleveland. Eventually, Mayfield left the game in the second half after taking quite the beating. He did so with just 119 passing yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions. Here are my four takeaways from the Steelers blowout win over the Browns:

The offense has more firepower than we originally thought

Thanks in large part to the rapid emergence of rookie wide receiver, Chase Claypool, the game-to-game offensive ceiling for this Steelers team is going go be much higher than we would have originally thought. Claypool has been an absolute force down the field. Though he saw just 4 targets in Week 6, the rookie led all receivers in the game with 74 yards. Claypool also punched in another rushing score against the Browns, marking his 6th touchdown in just 5 NFL games.

But Claypool wasn’t the only one getting involved. James Washington had an impressive game though the air, and a terrific out-and-up route landed him a 28-yard touchdown reception in the first half. James Conner was also stellar on the ground. He showcased a terrific first step and did an excellent job making defenders miss for extra yardage. It was a brilliant team effort by Pittsburgh’s offense in Week 6.
