Randy Fichtner called a great game

One thing that has improved in 2020 on the offensive side of the ball is Randy Fichtner. I think there are a couple of factors that led to this.

Having a quarterback who can execute your offense is a big reason for success for an offensive coordinator. It certainly helps to have Ben Roethlisberger back and not having to rely on Mason Rudolph and Devlin Hodges.

The other thing that is helping Fichtner is having Matt Canada in the building. Canada’s creativity is helping the Steelers use Chase Claypool effectively.

There was one play worth mentioning and it was the James Washington touchdown. It was designed so well that Ben Roethlisberger might have had the easiest touchdown pass of his career.

Conclusion

The Steelers got another win this week and they have been playing great football. I know their schedule has been easy and the Browns were beat up but this team has won consistently and hasn’t had a bad week.

I think this team will have two tough opponents in the next two weeks. They will travel to Nashville to play the undefeated Titans and then travel to Baltimore to play the Ravens. I think if the Steelers can win those two games then they will become the favorites to win the AFC. Yes, that means over the Chiefs.
