The Steelers Demolished the Cleveland Browns yet again in their long, storied rivalry. The Steelers, for the 2nd week in the row, scored 38 points. They now have a 5-0 record, their first such start since 1978.

There have been many instances over the years of a quarterback dominating against specific teams. Such as Tom Brady is 7-3 lifetime against Steelers quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger. However, Big Ben’s record against the Browns is mind-boggling.

Roethlisberger improved his record over the Browns to a staggering 23-2-1. He has not lost to the Browns since 2014. He has never lost to the Browns at Heinz Field, and after Sundays win, is now 12-0 at home

Airing It Out Against the Browns

Ben Roethlisberger only threw one touchdown pass against the Browns this Sunday; however, for his career, he now has 39 total touchdown passes against the Browns. The most of any quarterback in NFL history. The quarterback in second place behind Big Ben is the Blonde Bomber, Terry Bradshaw. In his career, he threw 33 touchdown passes. So combined, Bradshaw and Roethlisberger have victimized the Browns for a total of 71 touchdown passes since 1970.

Now, if you combine Andy Dalton (28), Carson Palmer (25), and Kenny Anderson (26), then all three have thrown 79 combined. The Top 10 Quarterbacks behind Big Ben and Bradshaw to throw touchdowns against the browns are:

Andy Dalton 28, Joe Flacco 27, Kenny Anderson 26, Carson Palmer 25, Charley Johnson 24, Warren Moon 23, Sonny Jurgenson 22, Charlie Conerly 21 and Dan Fouts 20.

How Many Punts?

Usually, when a team scores 38 plus points in a game, their punter does not put in a lot of work; however, despite edging the Browns by 31 points, Dustin Colquitt had a fairly busy day. The Steelers scored their most points against Cleveland while punting five times since their 51-35 win on October 7, 1979; also, this is their first overall win since a 2007 victory over the Ravens with a 31 point margin and five punts.

Chase Claypool Sets More Team Records

In the last two weeks, Chase Claypool has two rushing touchdowns. You can see his touchdown against the Browns.  No steelers Wide receiver has scored two rushing touchdowns in one season before Claypool. If Coach Tomlin keeps using Claypool in the rushing game, here are the potential records Claypool could potentially hold. He needs nine more rushing touchdowns to break Jerry Rice’s all-time record of 10 rushing touchdowns by a wide receiver.

Claypool needs four more to break Danny Woodhead’s record of five rushing touchdowns by a receiver in one season. If he can score four rushing touchdowns in one game, he can break Frank Jackson’s record from 1961. He is now tied with Darrius Heyward-Bey with two all-time rushing touchdowns for a Steelers receiver. Claypool needs three more to break the Steelers mark held by Louis Lipps, who has four from 1984-1989.
