Winner: Diontae Johnson

Likewise, Claypool’s fellow receiver Diontae Johnson showed up in a big way this week. Coming off a few injuries that had limited him earlier. Johnson reminded just how dynamic he can be in this offense. In total, he logged nine catches for 80 yards and a pair of scores. As well, he continued to display his elite change of direction ability to go along with his ability to make defenders miss in the open field.

All wasn’t perfect for Johnson though, as he had two critical drops that slowed down drives. One drop, in particular, was in the end zone and would have kept up the Steelers offensive onslaught. Unfortunately, these gaps haven’t been unusual for Johnson this season, as he will make truly amazing plays and follow them up with horrible plays.

All of this said, his good outweighed his bad this week, and he was a gamechanger for the Steelers this week. On his second score, his ability to stop on a dime and change his path proved critical in finding the end zone. He seemed to pick up right where he left off before injury, and he may continue to make the push as the team’s top target. His performance was very good this week, and ideally, we will continue to build off of it in the future weeks.
