The Pittsburgh Steelers are the only undefeated team left in the NFL. They are the best team in the league.

One of my first articles ever was just before the start of the season. I announced that the Pittsburgh Steelers were super-bowl bound.

I was a little off on a few things. First, Chase Claypool has been way more involved than I thought he would be coming into this season. I knew he was big and he was fast, he could catch the ball very well and that he could block. I was worried that a rookie who’s weakness was route running wouldn’t have a training camp and that he would need more time to acclimate to the game as a result of it. I was wrong and the second big thing I was wrong about was that he has firmly supplanted James Washington as the #3 wide receiver and it isn’t close at the moment.

The rest of what I said so far has held pretty true. With a healthy James Conner and Ben Roethlisberger, the offense is as balanced as I have seen in a long time. Ebron is the team’s number 1 tight end. The Steelers do have the best young receiving core in football and the versatility of this unit is making this offense so hard to defend against.

The offense line is improved from last year seeing Matt Feiler playing better at guard than Ramon Foster has. I think Feiler has flashed the ability to play high level at the position and as the season wears on I expect him to get more consistent from a pass-blocking standpoint on the interior. I think the run defense has been absolutely great, it is even better than I expected considering how high level some of the RB’s we have faced this season.

I knew that Stephon Tuitt would be a huge factor in the pass game and the running game as I believe him to be the most well-rounded member of the defensive line in that regard. I thought Alualu would benefit from switching to the inside on a permanent basis even though he has massively outplayed my expectations. I also accurately predicted that the defense would generate the best pass rush in the league yet again.

I wasn’t sure if we would go undefeated this far into the season but the fact that Pittsburgh remains undefeated has me thinking they have a shot of going undefeated in the league this year, even with having to play both the Browns and the Ravens twice.

That being said, here is why they are the best team in the NFL right now.
