The Steelers will play more away games than home games for the rest of the 2020 season

The fact that the Steelers will play six road games and will play only four home games for the remainder of the 2020 NFL season is alarming to me. It is also concerning that three of the next four games are on the road, two of which are consecutive road games.

Of those three road games, one game is against a team with a winning record, the Baltimore Ravens, and two games are Conference games, the aforementioned Ravens, and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The one home game we have during that stretch is against the Cincinnati Bengals, another Conference game.  As you have probably figured out the games against the Ravens and the Bengals are not only Conference games but are AFC North Division games as well. To say that the Steelers have a ‘tough row to hoe’ in the next four games is an understatement.

What is not an understatement is the fact that after those four games, the Steelers are home against the Ravens and the Washington Football Team, then back on the road against the Buffalo Bills and the Bengals, then we are home against the Indianapolis Colts, and then we finish up on the road against the Cleveland Browns.

So let’s recap: Of our remaining ten games, eight are Conference games, and five are AFC North Division games.  If I didn’t know any better, I would be inclined to think the NFL schedulers have something against the Steelers.  I will say that we got off to a good start with a road win against the Tennessee Titans, so that’s a step in the right direction.

So why will the lack of home games hurt the Steelers down the stretch?
