Two players stood above the rest on Steelers defense

Pittsburgh’s defense is loaded with talent, but I’d be lying if I said that there weren’t too players who were heads and shoulders above the pack in Week 8. Stephon Tuitt and T.J. Watt were once again remarkable.

This lethal pairing consistently made plays at or behind the line of scrimmage and made life very difficult for Lamar Jackson on Sunday.

We have come to expect this from T.J. Watt. He earned yet another sack in this contest and was credited with 5 tackles and a whopping 5 quarterback hits. Watt continues his impressive run of dominant performances, and it’s hard to make a case why any other player in the NFL deserves Defensive Player of the Year honors over him at this point.

Tuitt, meanwhile, had quite possibly the best game of his NFL career. He was a nightmare for the Ravens offensive line as he earned 9 tackles, 2.0 sacks, 3 tackles for a loss, and 3 quarterback hits in this contest. This performance in Week 8 may have been the most impressive from either team on either side of the ball. He has been one of the most impressive players in the league this year and is well on his way to becoming an All-Pro player in 2020.
